when steve and eddie announce to the family that they're dating, dustin freaks out. not because they're gay, but steve and eddie? dating??

he eventually accepts it when he realizes he basically has two older brothers now and he doesn't have to choose between them because they already chose each other.

unbeknownst to dustin, steve and eddie are constantly fighting about who gets to do what with dustin.

steve comes home from giving dustin a ride somewhere and eddie is sitting on the bed all grumpy, complaining about steve being dustin's favorite, and steve explains that he's known dustin longer.

eddie comes home from a day at the arcade with dustin and steve is sitting on the couch all grumpy, complaining about eddie being dustin's new favorite, and eddie just cackles and says it's true.

dustin thinks steve and eddie dating has solved the jealousy issue until one day, they're hosting a dinner at steve's house for the whole family and dustin asks if steve can take him to the store. eddie scoffs and this starts a whole argument that is very confusing for dustin.

to shut them up, he asks, "why don't you both take me?"

they never argue about dustin again.
